2. Other person's business cards
相手の名刺
You and the other person can exchange business cards either sequentially or simultaneously. Another option is to hold a business card holder and place the other person's business card on top of the holder.
Recently, most business cards have Roman characters in addition to Japanese, or have an English version on the back, but there are also business cards that are only in Japanese and don't know how to read the kanji.
When you receive your business card, first check how to read your name. You can ask お名前は何とお読みするのでしょうか? (How do you pronounce your name?).
Once you have received your business card, leave the other person's business card on your desk. If you have exchanged business cards with multiple people, arrange each person's card in the order in which they are sitting.
When you go back to your company and organize your business cards, it will be easier to remember them if you write down the date you met and the other person's characteristics. However, it is considered very rude to write anything on a business card, so please be careful not to write notes on the business card you received in front of the person.
