How English is used in Japanese
カリン
Literally translated, 和製 means "made in Japan" and 英語 means "English", so together the phrase can be translated as "Japanese-made English".

Wasei-eigo are Japanese words that are supposedly borrowed from English, but which in fact are not in English; for example, the well-known Japanese term サラリーマン (sarari:man) denotes an office worker, but in English the phrase salary man is not used when referring to such people as office worker or employee. A similar word in Japanese is OL(オーエル, office lady), which does not exist in English.
