Summer is reaching its peak in many areas of Japan. As temperatures rise, we need to guard ourselves against heatstroke.
Last weekend, a part-time worker at Hirakata Park in Osaka Prefecture died of heatstroke. He was working as a mascot for an event.(https://mainichi.jp/eng…/articles/20190730/…/00m/0na/008000c)
While you may have a load of plans for the summer holidays, do try to keep outdoor activities to a minimum! Try to spend more time indoors where there is air-conditioning.
*It is not uncommon to get heatstroke indoors if the temperatures are high!!
If you have to be outdoors, shield yourself well from the sun and keep yourself cool and hydrated.
Remember to take periodic breaks in between your activities!
If you are working, be aware of your physical condition and avoid overexerting yourself. Inform your supervisor if you feel unwell.
