In the case of an accident, do the following regardless of whether you are the victim or the perpetrator.
1. Tend to the wounds. Assess the condition of your wounds or the wounds of the other party and call 119 for an ambulance if they are serious.
2. Report to the police. Call the police at 110 immediately. If you do not make a report, you will not be able to get documentation proof of the accident which is needed to claim insurance later.
3. Get the name, address and contact number of the other party involved in the accident with you
4. If you are covered by insurance, contact your insurance company. Get your wounds examined at the hospital even if they do not seem serious. If possible, consult your Japanese friends or acquaintances (your school teacher or admin staff, your colleague, etc) on what you should do.
