Family Mart and Seven Eleven recently announced that they will be revising operation hours due to labour shortage. They are currently testing out the new hours at a few of their branches across the nation. The following is a list of affected branches.
Family Mart (with effect from June 2019):
1. Isahayashi and Unzen, Nagasaki
2. Southern Akita
3. some branches in Bunkyo and Chiyoda, Tokyo
4. branches around Ikebukuro
Operation hours will generally be 6am or 7am till 11.30pm.
Not all branches have the same hours so please check with your affected branch!
Seven Eleven (with effect from 21 March 2019):
A test of the revised hours has begun at 10 branches in 8 prefectures (Tokyo, Aichi, Chiba, Tochigi, Miyagi, Hyogo, Fukuoka and Kumamoto).
There are 3 variations of operation hours namely, 5pm to 1am (20h), 6am to 12am (18h), 7am to 11pm (16h). Please check with your affected branch for their operation hours.
