Using the Seishun 18 Pass for Summer Holidays
Airi
Have you ever wanted to travel for a weekend, but not had the money for it?

The Japan Railway Company (JR) offers a seasonal pass called the Seishun 18, which allows unlimited rides on local and rapid service trains across Japan for five days.

The Seishun 18 is currently offered during spring, summer, and winter. It cannot be used on Shinkansens (bullet trains) or limited express trains, so it is ideal for those that want to travel at a leisurely pace and on a tighter budget.

Seishun 18 costs ¥11,850 for five days of unlimited travel on travel. That’s only ¥2,370 a day!

One person can use the pass on five consecutive days for a full week of travel. However, if you only have time on the weekends, you can use it on five nonconsecutive days within the valid time period.

If you want to travel in a group, you can also use one Seishun 18 pass for all five members. In this case, a single pass will be completely used up in one day.

If you’re interested in purchasing the Seishun 18, please visit your local travel center or JR ticket office. For more information on valid time periods and sales dates, check out http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/pass/seishun18.html .
